The Anti-Corruption Trust of Southern Africa (ACT-Southern Africa) is seeking support to establish its regional offices in either South Africa or Namibia. Besides estabblising its regional offices, support is also sought to implement the following activities spelt out in its Strategic Plan (2009 to 2013),
(A)- Regional research, advocacy and development;
- Assessment of the nature and extent of corruption and institutional capabilities to prevent and combat corruption (US$50,000);
- Service Delivery Surveys in local governments and other sector (US$30,000)s;
- Producing and disseminating Corruption Annual Reports covering 15 SADC member states (US$100,000);
- Establishing a Resource Centres at the Regional Office (US$30,000);
- Establishing and maintain a website (US$4,500).
(B)- Regional/national advocacy for anti-corruption policy and law reform;
- Supporting national governments/CSOs efforts to harmonise national anti-corruption laws and policies with good practices (US$160,000);
- Simplifying, translating and disseminating important anti-corruption treaties, policies and laws (US$25,000);
- Free legal advice to victims of corruption and others (US$98,000);
- Regional Advocacy Campaign for the establishment of anti-corruption courts/ tribunals at national and regional levels (US$62,000).
(C)- Social prevention and community empowerment;
- Public Education (US$95,000);
- Media training (Investigative journalism) (US$153,000);
- Establishment and empowering of anti-corruption voluntary action groups (US$95,000);
(D)- Institutional capacity building
- Training political parties from the SADC region and forming a forum to facilitate continuous sharing of information and good practices (US$153,000);
- Training law enforcement agents (US$143,000);
- Training the Business sector (US$153,000);
- Training the youths drawn from the SADC region (US$153,000)
